The now and then...

Well, it looks like some of the issues Bush and the White House were dealing with have come to a head, while other issues just keep on rolling. For instance, I am sure you know by now that Harriet Miers withdrew her nomination, which was clear indication of dissent in the Republican party.

At the same time, Lewis "Scooter" Libby was indicted on five criminal counts, and summarily resigned from his position of Cheney's Chief-of-Staff.

Last time I mentioned Bush having a lot on his plate, and well if you didn't believe it then, well, believe it now.

A whole lot on Bush's plate...

I do not know how many of you have been noticing, but it seems that there are a whole lot of issues that the Republican Party, and Bush specifically, has to deal with, or at least explain to the American people. Two big issues of course are Harriet Mier's nomination and Tom Delay's arrest, but I'd like to bring up one issue some forget. Specifically, I'm talking of the CIA agent leak investigation.

Why just read this article from the United Press International. I mean at times this sounds like it could be as much a work of fiction as it is real life events.

Homecoming recap (yes, belated)

Well, this is a bit belated but good to put.

Homecoming was fun, and thanks for all those who visited and hung out at the tent. Also, thanks to those who helped with Alicia Miller's Homecoming Queen attempt. The flyers/cards were great, and I personally know many people noticed. Also, I know a few spoke ill of our being a part of this, but we do like to have a little fun too, and we thought it was something we could get around, and we did.

Lastly, in our Facebook group we're gaining on the College Republicans, and have just broke 600.

So yeah, and have a good weekend.

Vote Alicia Miller for Homecoming Queen

That's right, today's the day to vote for Homecoming Queen. So go to Topnet (now!) and vote Alicia Miller.

She's co-sponsored by us, College Democrats of course, and the German Club.

Elections are over, but what's next?

Well, congratulations to our newly elected officers.

President - Kyle Gott
Vice President - Jaime Barrett
Treasurer (Fall) - Andy Vanderburg
Treasurer (Spring) - Jake Berghaus
Public Relations Director - Sarah Ashley Lawrence
Membership Director - Tim Morris
Secretary - Sarah Cecil

For everyone else who ran, just stay with us and maybe next year... anyway this year, non-election season and all, can still be fun and fulfilling.

Also, there will be a recruiting table Oct. 11 @ DUC, from 10-2, where Tim and any interested (please RSVP to Timothy.Morris@wku.edu), will be campaigning for our co-sponsored homecoming candidate Alicia Miller. In addition, they'll be registering people to vote, and signing them up for our mailing list too. So if you can help please do.

Oh, and on a final note if you have any t-shirt ideas please send them to Sarah Cecil. We're trying to have a funny and a serious shirt, so please think and think hard. Remember the more the better. And on that note, over and...
